Sid's Science Fair App Reviews

Creative teaching

Very well thought out and entertaining. Learning should be fun!! My 4 year old really enjoys this app.

Science fair

Not very challenging after five minutes!

Fun but..

This app is fun and interactive. But, this app is not in HD which makes it a bit less clear. Also, the mini games can get very boring and repetitive. In next update it would be AWESOME if you could change its picture quality to HD, and add more options or maybe even more mini games.

No sound!

Have no sound from initial install. Not happy as have tried reinstalling and hard reset. No change, wasted money

Beyond science facts...

Excellent! This is the first app I have seen that encourages curious preschool kids to think like scientists. They can explore details of common objects (leaves, pasta, toys…), categorize and count things with a chart that they build themselves, and observe visually interesting changes (plants grow, volcanoes erupt, ice melts…) or laugh at them in reverse using the “time machine” (plant shrinks back into a seed). All three games pose challenges and provide feedback for correct answers (arrange photos in proper sequence to show ice melting), while also letting kids play at their own pace, and explore in their own way. The games could go further in their support of scientific thinking, for example, by guiding players to identify which chart category has "more" or "less", or to think about which changes are reversible and which are not in real life. Kids do learn some scientific terms like “compare and contrast data” but most of the value of this app is in the way that it lets them play the role of a scientist who wonders about the world and makes new discoveries. Many of the activities involve common objects that parents could find around the house to extend the activities off-screen.

Excellent - What Science Learning Should Look LIke

This is a beautiful, fun app that is a hit with my young kids. It really hits the tone of the show and the characters we love... and it gives kids wonderful opportunities to practice comparing, charting data, ordering information (all in a way they will love). As a mom and as an educator, I highly endorse this app!

Keeps kicking me out!

I play all games before I let my 3yr old daughter play, and this one keeps kicking me out when I go to the collection inspection game. I cant even get into the game to try it. I have tried to redownlad it to the iPod itself, and from iTunes, and am still having the problem. I figure this would be something they could fix in an update. The rest of the game seems really good for learing, and challanging my child, if they could only fix this problem i would so give it 5 stars! I just dont know if I can tell my kid to just not go to that game...

Acceptable but Overpriced

There are few good apps for toddlers and the passable ones usually have the same matching games. I give the give the game credit for doing something slightly different. However, it is way overpriced. Especially given that Monkey Preschool Lunchbox and Duck Duck Moose Games are better and usually at 99 Cents. My son will play this, but PBS could do a lot better and ought to at 3 times the standard price.

Great!

Full Discloser: I bought this because I know the developer and wanted to support him. I didnt expect two first graders to really enjoy it being at the upper age limit of the game. My daughter 6yr just loves it. Maybe because its an app she doesnt have to have to ask for help with. It was well worth the $3 I spent for the time and enjoyment the kids have had; not to mention the educational value. She still is playing with it daily.

problem with collections part

I just downloaded this to two iPods for my twins, all parts run great, but each time I click the collections it crashes and exits the program. Ive tried multiple times, and on both iPods. As for the other 2 parts that do work, I think they were great!

Love love love it!

Creative, interesting, thought provoking, engaging....a great app for three to five year olds.

My little one likes it

But it could be a tad more challenging for the price!

Disappointed with...

This is one of my 3 year old sons favorite apps. I am disappointed with Gabriellas alphabet collection inspection the letters go " T U W V". Hopefully this can be corrected on an update. Otherwise no complaints

No Sound!!

Appears to be a great app for my 3 year old, but theres no sound!!!

Not worth it!!!!

Had to delete app. After paying 2.99, the sound never worked. Downloaded PBS Kids for free and was able to get Sid & all the other kid favorites. :(

Disappointing

This is not much of a game. My Kids wont even play it. It is not even educational. Save your money.

Bought the ap!

But my son accident delete it, how can I put back on iPhone without purchasing it again????

App wont load to my iPad!

I just purchased this game and synced to my iPad (the Details page indicates its compatible), but the game isnt on my iPad 4. Whats going on? Did I just waste my money? Please tell me how to fix this or give me a refund!

No audio

This looks like a great game but I cant get the audio to work.
